I've never thought about the story of Peter walking on water to Jesus this way.

The life altering moment when Peter climbed out of his boat onto the giant waves that could have just in one second brought him under and killed him is the moment when we accept Christ. It is a leap of faith, it really is. By accepting Christ, you say, although I've never physically seen a person die and go to heaven, and although there's no way for me to have physical proof that this will save me or that this is real, I believe it with my whole heart and I'm giving my life to this. It was the same thing with Peter. He had never seen anyone else walking around with Jesus on the water. He had no proof whatsoever that this would work and he wouldn't just die right then, but he took that leap of faith.
As he is walking on the water, this is our Christian walk. This is where we cannot live without God. This is where we realize that we are nothing without Him and without His support we are hopeless. This is the same with Peter. He knows that it is by Jesus' strength only that he is still standing. But when the wind and the waves hit him he all of a sudden falters and cries out to the Lord. HE IS RUNNING TO THE LORD. HE IS LOOKING AT JESUS IN THE FACE. This is the same as our lives, we say we know that God is holding us and we are hopeless without Him, but ONE LITTLE THING comes and we start freaking out and trying to think of what WE can do, and God's like, really?? You are currently walking on water! You are miraculously living right now and you are freaking out about the wind? Who do you think I am? Do you think that the wind is stronger than me? Turn around and see the Lord in these moments. If we admit that from life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands our destiny, but we forget that he's there when things go wrong, OR we only look to him when things go wrong, does that not make us hypocrites? Why in the world do we stress about things we can't control?? We should be so happy when there is a situation we can't control, because that means that it's only God! At least when we have no control, we can't mess anything up! It's all according to His will.

If you are living a life of faith, you are miraculously living. Remember that Jesus is in front of your face the whole time. Don't let the wind distract you from getting to Him.
